2023 NEW YEAR’S FAST
21 DAY CORPORATE FAST
(Tuesday, January 3, 2022 – Monday, January 23, 2022)
Rhema Word Church strongly encourages individuals with health concerns to consult their physician prior to beginning a fast. This is especially important if you take prescription medications or have a chronic condition. Some people should never fast without professional supervision.
What is Fasting?
In the Bible the word for Fast (in both the Old & New Testament) means to either cover the mouth or abstain from food so, when many people hear about Fasting, they immediately think of what has to be given up. But fasting is more about gaining than giving up. Fasting is about gaining more of God and growing closer to Him. Fasting allows us to remove some of the things that we spend most of our time and energy on and gives us room to focus on God. Fasting humbles our flesh, causing it to decrease and allows our spirit man to increase. Fasting isn’t something that we do to try to manipulate God, but it is a spiritual discipline that can help us to align our lives with Heaven and develop a deeper intimacy with God. So, as we embark upon these 21 days of Fasting and Prayer, we stand in agreement with you that these will be some of the most powerful days of your life and that you will make Fasting a perpetual part of your spiritual walk!
“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three full weeks. I ate no rich food, no meat or wine entered my mouth, and I did not anoint myself with oil until the three weeks were completed”Daniel 10:2-3 (KJV)
“Therefore, also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping and with mourning”Joel 2:12 (KJV)
“Moreover, when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verify I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly”Matthew 6:16-18 (KJV)

Father, we ask that you give us the daily grace, strength, and focus that we need to turn our hearts towards you and that we not be distracted by the cares of this world. Father, we Pray that you will position us to hear your voice, increase our hunger for you and ignite a fire that never goes out. In the Name of Jesus, we Pray. Amen!

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we thank You And praise Your glorious name.1 Chronicles 29:11-13 (NKJV)
