INCLUDING SUNDAYS
As we step into a new year, it is crucial to align our hearts, minds, and spirits with God’s will. This 14-day fast is an intentional time of consecration, prayer, and seeking God’s direction for our lives, our families, and our church. Our theme for the year is the Season of Progression & Promotion inspired by Joshua 1-9 NLT. Together, we will commit to drawing closer to God, silencing distractions, and positioning ourselves for the year ahead.

Whether you’re fasting for the first time or are a seasoned participant, this journey is about progress, not perfection. Each day, we will provide scriptures, prayer points, and reflections to guide you. Stay connected with your Rhema family for encouragement and support as we fast together in unity and faith.
Let’s expect God to do great things as we humble ourselves before Him.
In the Bible the word for Fast (in both the Old & New Testament) means to either cover the mouth or abstain from food so, when many people hear about Fasting, they immediately think of what has to be given up. But fasting is more about gaining than giving up. Fasting is about gaining more of God and growing closer to Him. Fasting allows us to remove some of the things that we spend most of our time and energy on and gives us room to focus on God.
Fasting humbles our flesh, causing it to decrease and allows our spirit man to increase. Fasting isn’t something that we do to try to manipulate God, but it is a spiritual discipline that can help us to align our lives with Heaven and develop a deeper intimacy with God.
So, as we embark upon these 14 days of Fasting and Prayer, we stand in agreement with you that these will be some of the most powerful days of your life and that you will make Fasting a perpetual part of your spiritual walk!

Rhema Word Church strongly encourages individuals with health concerns to consult their physician prior to beginning a fast. This is especially important if you take prescription medications or have a chronic condition. Some people should never fast without professional supervision.
“In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three full weeks. I ate no rich food, no meat or wine entered my mouth, and I did not anoint myself with oil until the three weeks were completed”
Daniel 10:2-3 (KJV)
“Therefore, also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping and with mourning”
Joel 2:12 (KJV)
“Moreover, when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verify I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly”
Matthew 6:16-18 (KJV)
